What You Gain
Working With Us
A clear-eyed look at why clients choose Yara Interiors â and what that choice means in practice.
Back to HomeCore Benefits at a Glance
What clients consistently tell us made the difference.
Direct Designer Access
You work with Yara directly â not with a junior assistant passing messages. The person who understood your brief is the person who designs your space.
Local Material Expertise
Years of sourcing in KL means we know which suppliers deliver quality, which materials perform in Malaysia's climate, and how to avoid common procurement pitfalls.
Documented at Every Stage
Written briefs, specification sets, and procurement records â so your contractor has no room for guesswork and you retain a reference document long after the project closes.
Honest About Budget
We align design decisions to what you actually want to spend â not what would make the project more impressive in a portfolio. Surprises at the end of a project are not our style.
Realistic Schedules
Timelines are set based on what's actually achievable â taking into account supplier lead times, Kuala Lumpur's building permit processes, and the realities of on-site work.
Post-Completion Care
The relationship doesn't end at handover. We follow up after you've settled in, to hear how the space is working and address any remaining details.
Fourteen Years of Interior Design Practice
Yara Othman has been designing residential and heritage interiors in Kuala Lumpur since 2011. That depth of experience means fewer costly mistakes, a stronger supplier network, and a faster route from idea to finished space.
- Residential, heritage, and boutique commercial
- Architecture and interior design training
- Established supplier and contractor network
See your space before a single wall is touched.
Visualisation That Removes Guesswork
Every Bespoke Interior Design engagement includes detailed 3D renders, so you can see how materials, light, and proportions will actually look before anything is built. Accompanied by a complete specification set that contractors can follow precisely.
- Photorealistic 3D renders
- Material and finish specification set
- Two revision rounds included
Personal Attention, Not a Production Line
Yara Interiors takes on a limited number of projects at any one time. This is a deliberate choice. It means every client receives the level of attention that makes the difference between an adequate interior and one that genuinely fits your life.
- Limited concurrent projects
- Direct communication at every stage
- Responsive throughout the project
We design for the people who live there â not the photographs.
A personal dialogue to explore your space, your needs, and the possibilities.
Accessible Entry, Clear Pricing
The Personal Design Dialogue at MYR 450 gives anyone a low-barrier way to engage a professional designer. All pricing is stated upfront â no hidden fees, no scope creep without agreement. The dialogue fee is credited against any subsequent engagement.
Spaces That Hold Up Over Time
We are not interested in interiors that look striking for a year and date quickly. Our choices are guided by longevity â materials that develop character with age, layouts that work as households change, and colour compositions that remain grounding rather than exhausting.
How We Compare
A side-by-side look at what typically differs between a boutique design practice and a volume-based firm.

|---|---|---|
| Direct designer contact | Usually through account managers | Always direct |
| Site visit before design | Often skipped or charged extra | Included in every engagement |
| Written brief provided | Rarely | Every project |

| Contractor management | Additional or separate service | Curated Implementation service |
| Post-completion follow-up | Uncommon | Standard practice |
| Low entry point option | Full commitment required | Dialogue from MYR 450 |
| Climate-aware material choices | Varies by individual | Built into every specification |
What Makes This Practice Different
Specific things you will not find in most design firms.
The Reflective Written Brief
After every site visit, we produce a written document that captures what we heard and observed â not just measurements and furniture positions, but how you described your mornings, your guests, your habits. Clients tell us this document alone is worth the initial fee.
Light-First Design Approach
In KL's climate, natural light behaves differently across the day and season. We map your space's light patterns before specifying any material or colour â which is why our interiors photograph well but, more importantly, feel right to live in.
Sensitivity to Heritage Properties
Older homes in Damansara Heights and Bangsar have architectural details worth preserving. We have specific experience designing around â and with â existing period features: timber floors, transom windows, high plaster ceilings, and original brickwork.
Dialogue Fee Applied Forward
The MYR 450 Personal Design Dialogue fee is credited toward the cost of any subsequent service engagement. It means there is no financial risk in beginning with a conversation â and no reason to commit to a larger scope before you're ready.
Recognition & Milestones
Professional acknowledgements and practice milestones since 2016.
